Luciano de Azevedo is a Brazilian director and visual artist based in São Paulo.

Born in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, his work moves between narrative cinema, music, documentary and experimental filmmaking, often exploring horror, psychological tension, body, ritual and the darker edges of human behavior.

His background in editing, color grading and post-production has played a defining role in his approach to directing, with a strong emphasis on visual language, atmosphere and image construction.

Over the course of his career, Luciano has worked on more than 20 short films, feature films and series, alongside projects for artists and bands including Slipknot, Criolo, Pitty, IZA, Luísa Sonza, Luedji Luna, Duda Beat, Gaby Amarantos, PETBRICK, Codefendants, The D.O.C. and The Ocean Collective.

His commercial work includes projects for brands such as Google, Netflix, Converse, Jeep, Coca-Cola, HBO, Adidas, Pepsi, Samsung, Formula 1, Paramount+, Puma, Nescafé, Motorola, McDonald's and Gucci.

Beginning as a short film in 2015 and later expanding into Luciano's feature debut, Cabrito became his most internationally recognized narrative project.

Across its short and feature versions, the project circulated through more than 70 film festivals and received over 30 awards and distinctions worldwide.

The films were presented at genre festivals including Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, Fantaspoa, Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre, Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival and Macabro, among others.

The original short was nominated for the ABC Award from the Brazilian Cinematography Association and received awards in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Portugal, Spain and Greece.

The feature premiered on the international genre circuit in 2020 and received awards including Best Ibero-American Director at Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre. It was later released digitally on Amazon Prime Video.
